The topic I’ve chosen is Topological data analysis for music.
The most interesting part I find about this is that I would be able to mathematically qualify music.
I haven’t quite figured out the questions that I will want to answer, but I hope to be able to distinguish the different structures of music form with TDA.
I think this might be difficult since there all of the literature is fairly new. I also think the hardest part might be learning how to apply TDA methods to the music itself.

This topic is extremely interesting, and I have to confess I was intimidated looking trough that paper. I personally have some interest in mathematical analysis of music, mostly algebraic, such as Neo-Riemannian theory and Tonnetz, but never considered the waveforms themselves.
Suffices to say that time series analysis itself is an important, quickly growing field in data science, and it is nice to see that TDA is able to provide novel applications in it! Good luck with your project!
